Brianne is now 3! Happy Birthday! To say she was excited, was an understatement, she loved her Phineas and Ferb party (seriously, what girl wouldn't?). She enjoyed the company, the food, the blowing out her candle, the pinata (even her Uncles enjoyed that!), the games, etc. Pin the tail on Perry was quite funny, but don't take my word for it, check out the photos at the bottom of this blog to see for yourself.
Along with turning 3, we are now 38 inches tall and 40 pounds (she isn't at the age where we are not allowed to identify her weight yet). ;) She has lost 2 pounds since October, which is actually a good thing (we were told to reduce her milk consumption and that obviously has paid off).
Let's back up, as Brianne's birthday was at the end of the month, so lets go back towards the beginning. Unfortunately, we didn't get to celebrate Christmas at Grandma Re's this year due to Brianne puking twice before we got more than 15 minutes on the road. Needless to say, we opted to head back home. We have no idea why she got sick, her doctor's didn't uncover anything either, but she is doing much better.
Mommy decided this year, Brianne would begin schooling. She has started to teach Brianne how to write the letters A and B. Within a few minutes, Brianne had the letter A down pretty well. B on the other hand is taking a bit more time, she just hasn't quite caught on to the curves.
We are now at the stage where we love board games. Our favorite games are "Don't Break the Ice" (uses a hammer to knock ice blocks off a platform, you try not to be the person that makes the bear fall), "Candy Land", and "Domino Build" (play a domino that matches, get a Lego brick, collect 4 Lego bricks to win). Every evening we play at least one game. Mommy and I are amazed on how well she does, but the longer games (Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders) don't quite keep her attention.
At the age of 3, we are also a BIG helper now. We not only help pick up toys, assist with turning on lights, getting dish towels, burp rags; we also help change the sheets on our bed, put clothes in the washer/dryer and are now starting to dress and undress ourselves. It is quite an exciting time to be a 3 year old.
Along with the powers of being a 3 year old, we also have a few new store antics. While at Meijer getting groceries, Brianne saw an apple and decided she was hungry. Yep, you guessed it, before Mommy could do anything, she bit right into it (it also had to be the most expensive apple at Meijer -- that's my daughter, she goes for the "good" stuff). You'd think that couldn't possibly be topped, not within the same month, let alone the same day, but you'd be wrong! Mommy then went to Sam's Club to get a few things and while at the meat department waiting for the rotisserie chickens to be ready, Brianne begins to yell "Fire! Fire!" whilst pointing at the rotisserie oven.
Now would be the time I'd mention everyone we visited or who visited us, but that list is too long with Brianne's party after all, so Brianne visited everyone and everyone came to visit Brianne at her party. :)
As mentioned previously, here are the photos over the past month, you are sure to get a kick out of them (we did!).
Love,
Matt, Kami, Brianne and Keaten
