Catchy title isn't it? Well, you'll just have to wait (or jump around) as I'm not going into that story to begin with, instead, I'll mention that placing chicken on a stick has proven successful again with our little vegan. She successfully ate it off the stick and then quickly asked for seconds. Don't get us wrong, we only refer to her as a vegan because she is a very very picky eater when it comes to meats and usually sticks to pasta, applesauce, or yogurt, so we're excited when she branches off to something else.
Along with her brother, Brianne got to spend a day with Daddy while Mommy helped her friend at a garage sale. She thoroughly enjoyed going to the World of Bounce and had a blast going from inflatable to inflatable. After bouncing around for an hour we went out in the sitting area and Brianne asked if she could get a juice box. Mommy warned me she would want to do this (and gave me a dollar to make it happen) so I agreed and told her to take the dollar and ask for 2 juice boxes. She excitedly grab the dollar, walked to the counter, threw it up there is shouted "2 juice boxes". The gals at the counter were all but ready to peel over laughing at her technique, as I promptly told Brianne to add "Please" to her request, which she promptly did. After she drank her first juice box, we headed out to get Mommy and her friend some lunch and it wasn't much after, Brianne fell asleep.
Following that weekend, Mommy and Brianne had a date night, where they went to McDonald's. Mommy got a McFlurry and Brianne got a kiddie cone (which are free, by the way). Following their stop at McDonald's, they went to a local park to play and walk. Once they got home, she couldn't wait to have a date night with her Daddy next.
Brianne also got to enjoy a morning at Lake Logan with her Uncle Elijah, and had a blast building sand castles with moats, and then filling the moats with water. Then Daddy and her would go out swimming (as far as Daddy could go while still touching the bottom of the lake). Then there was the occasionally water splashing fight, as she tried to splash Daddy and Daddy sent wave after wave at her. Needless to say, she had a great time and can't wait to do it again.
Also this past month, she made sure to tell us just how much she missed her Uncles and that we needed to go see them. So Mommy and I arranged a cookout at the house (so we could also check on things) and she was enthused! She dragged them around the house as she challenged them to races, splashed them with water from their activity table we had setup in the backyard, and talked their ears off non-stop.
Speaking of talking non-stop, Brianne had a few moments of pure hilarity this past month that I can't help but share. This first one, Mommy and Daddy needed to run a few errands so we were driving past the mall.
Brianne: We go to mall?
Mommy: No, we are going to the store.
Brianne: But it will only take a few minutes and it's open now.
The second one was on the way home from running our errands.
(Brianne is starting to throw a fit because we didn't go to the mall)
Mommy: Brianne, chill dude.
Brianne: Mommy, I not a Dude, I just Brianne!
That latter moment has been repeated many times when we refer to her as a "silly girl" or another term of endearment. It is quite funny how she doesn't quite grasp the context just yet, and it will be interesting to see when she does.
Last but definitely not least, the catchy title. Mommy had taken the kids to Plain City to visit a bulk food store. As she was putting Keaten in the cart, she looked up to see Brianne playing with a container of peanut shells outside the store. As quickly as she could she rushed Brianne to the bathroom to get her hands cleaned and was just frantically waiting to see if a reaction would occur. Thankfully a reaction never did occur, but Mommy's heart still was racing out of control for hours after that event. God must have been watching over Brianne that morning, as we still have no idea how she made it through that encounter without using the epipen.
Well, that's it for another month and we hope this next month is a bit "less exciting" (at least as far as fiascoes go).
Love,
Matt, Kami, Brianne, and Keaten
