I can be ornery too!

So these past two months have been interesting with Brianne as well. Early in the month she was sick with a cough and the following conversation took place:

Brianne: Mommy, my cough is all gone.
Mommy: Well, that's great!
Brianne: (cough cough), Well, I guess there is a little bit left.

Needless to say, the rest of us were trying not to laugh too hard (as by that time, we had already caught what the kids had). It was maybe a week later when Brianne decided to share another gem with us. Mommy was sitting down enjoying a snack and Brianne walked up to her and took her snack stating: "You've had your fill." I couldn't help but laugh at that one, while Mommy pondered "What just happened??".

If her conversations weren't enough, one day Mommy was making meringue for some cupcakes in the kitchen when while that was going on, she was in her room with Keaten covering both their hair with hand sanitizer! We still have no idea how she got that bottle to begin with...

Despite her orneriness, she has shown a few new qualities that are quite admirable. For one, there has been a few mornings she will awake and come out asking where her brother is. To which we reply, "He's been up from a while and is hanging out in the living room". She responds with "We'', I missed him" then proceeds to sit down next to him and make sure he is okay. :)

Not only is her concern for her brother strong, but it is also strong for Mommy and Daddy, as the experiment of her hanging out with her Aunts and Uncles for a week foretold. After spending a couple of days with Aunt Brittani and Uncle Nathan, she only lasted a few more days with Auntie Amber and Uncle Kris before she wanted to come home and see Mommy and Daddy. We let another day pass before deciding maybe it would be good for Mommy and brother to head to Auntie Amber's and Uncle Kris's house to pick her up. Mommy was going to be heading up that way for the weekend anyway, it just moved up the time frame a couple of days early. Unfortunately, Mommy and brother weren't enough, she desperately needed Daddy too.

The time away with her aunts and uncles weren't all concern of missing Mommy and Daddy, she got to enjoy eating out at Pizza Hut, playing in the Park, going to Church, going to a Science Exhibit, etc. I'm sure between it all, she had a fantastic time and built in some new memories.

Our little girl has also become quite the problem solver. One night Mommy awoke at 2:30 in the morning to find the hallway light on. As she investigated, she found Brianne and asked her what she was doing. Brianne informed her the night light went out in the bedroom. So Mommy told her to just get the one out of the bathroom to which Brianne showed Mommy her hand and there was the night light from the bathroom, she was just heading back to replace the one in her room.

And like her brother, Mommy's cleaning influence has be imprinted our my little girl's mind too. The other day Brianne decided the kitchen floor and the bathroom floors needed mopped, so she got a few rags, got them wet and went to work! Mommy "claims" she didn't ask Brianne to do it, but I'm still investigating that one...

Last but not least, our fashion wear this past month has primarily consisted of "Princess Dresses". And with that, I mean, dresses a princess would be delighted to wear, not necessarily ones that resemble Disney princesses. She has gone through every fancy dress she has in her closet at least twice over in this past month alone! When asked "why, do you like your "princess dresses"?" she responds, "so I can twirl and dance!"

To end this off, we hope you enjoy some updated photos of this past month:

Love,
Matt, Kami, Brianne, and Keaten
