I honestly have no idea where time goes? I can't believe our last update was in July, where did August go? How did we miss that? Anyway, we have a lot to go over as our little girl, just keeps on moving!
Our family's chiropractor held a "Dunk the Doc" event last month and boy did we have a blast. From ice cream (they specifically asked us what kind of ice cream is safe for Brianne), to balloon animals, face painting, and of course, a Dunk Tank! Brianne was pumped to donate a dollar to charity so she can throw 3 balls at the dunk tank and try and get the Doc all wet! First ball, miss. Second ball, another miss, the Third ball.... yep, another miss. It wasn't long, she ran up to Daddy, batted those pretty eyes and asked for another dollar to try again. What is a Daddy to say to such a sweet request? Of course I said "Yes!" She took her next dollar, got 3 more balls and stepped up to the line to take another shot at Dunking the Doc! First ball, miss. Second ball, another miss. Third ball.... Hit! And the Doc got wet! She couldn't have been more proud of herself.
From a health standpoint, Brianne has been doing pretty well, but had another breathing episode that required us to use the breathing machine to open up her lungs. This was the third time within a short period of time that this has happened. This time however, the doctors deems Brianne to officially have asthma. So now she has to have an emergency inhaler with her and we definitely have to keep the breathing machine (in case she has any breathing episodes).
With the addition of asthma and considering we have little knowledge on the subject, we setup an appointment with Brianne's allergist to talk about it. From our meeting, we determined that her asthma is likely illness induced and not environmental (even though she has environment allergies).
Then one of the most important changes in this past month was the arrival of Finten Coldren, Brianne's new cousin! He was born on August 12th and Brianne couldn't wait to get down there to see him, to hold him, and to well, just love on him. If visiting after his arrival wasn't enough, she had to go down there and stay a few days so Mommy could give Auntie Amber a chance to relax and focus purely on Finten and not have to worry about cleaning, cooking, or laundry. Needless to say, a lot of fun was had and they were excited to be there.
Then there is Pre-K. Can you believe we are at that time already? I can't! Time has just flown by and I just don't know where it went. It should come as no surprise but Mommy wasn't exactly fond of losing her little girl 5 days a week in the afternoons, but boy, oh, boy does Brianne loves it! She has already learned how to write her name, she can count to 10 forwards and backwards now, identify letters on various items, and much more (and this is only after a week! Just imagine what she can do by the end of the year!).
Needless to say, it is sad to see Summer ending and our daughter is disappointed that the pool has been taken down as she recalls the fun filled days of splashing and swimming, running through her sprinkler, etc. But a new chapter of her life has begun, and I truly believe she loves it just as much.
